A great start, an exciting climax and a disappointing end would summarize the 2007-2008 Huskies wrestling season.
The Huskies wrestlers put in a tremendous team effort in the Section 1AAA finals to come up short in a controversial
finish.
The section champions, Albert Lea, went on to place second in State Class AAA. This should provide
plenty of motivation for 2008-2009.
Highlights of the 2007-2008 season included a 43 dual meet win streak that equaled the OHS
all-time team record set in 2005-2006. The Huskies finished runner-ups in both Section 1AAA
and the Big Nine Conference. They won seven tournament titles too and qualified five wrestlers
to the to the individual state tournament. Hector Millan placed third at 130, and Kade Zeman
placed sixth at 160. Dillin Schlultz (112), Jordan Gnerer (171), and Casey Dehn (285), were
all qualifiers. Millan set a new school single season takedown record with 254 on the year.
