As the Owatonna Wrestling Association, we have been receiving many calls from you with questions and we want to try to clear some of those up for you here.

The Owatonna Wrestling Association is a not-for profit organization that is setup to support youth, middle school, and high school wrestling programs (like a booster club). We have been around for over 40 years.

Throughout all youth, middle school, and high school programs we support and/or offer wrestling experiences for both folkstyle, freestyle, and greco wrestling disciplines. Below are just a few things that we do to support each program.

**Youth**

  • Create a Youth program to give our young wrestlers the opportunity to partake in an amazing sport before going into the upper level programs within the Owatonna School system.

  • Maintain low registration costs through donations and hosting tournaments

  • Provide many competition opportunities and team bonding experiences

  • Helps reimburse wrestlers for travel expenses to National Competitions.

**Middle School**

  • Pay for ALL weekend tournaments and transportation

  • Bridge the gap for funding to offer high level, experienced coaching for our wrestlers

  • In partnership with the Owatonna Public School to purchase new mats, singlets, and warm ups.

  • Offers opportunities for wrestlers to go to off season Coach endorsed summer camps

  • Helps reimburse wrestlers for travel expenses to National Competitions.

**High School**

  • Supports out of conference tournaments that are outside the High School budget

  • Bridge the gap for funding to offer high level, experienced coaching for our wrestlers

  • In partnership with Owatonna Public School to purchase new mats, singlets, and warm ups.

  • Offers opportunities for wrestlers to go to off season Coach endorsed summer camps

  • Helps reimburse wrestlers for travel expenses to National Competitions.

These are just a few things that we do and have done in the past to help support our Youth, Middle School, and High School wrestling programs from the support and donations from our wrestling families, community and supporters.

We will always introduce who we are as the “Owatonna Wrestling Association” or “the Wrestling Association”. We will no longer identify as the “OWA” to be able to ease the confusion for all of our amazing supporters.

If you have any questions, please reach out to President Dan Johnson, 507-521-3265, or any of our other board members listed on our website at www.owatonnawrestling.com.

Thank you,

Owatonna Wrestling Association Board
